Take the tip out to draw up your favorite mastic! Screw it back in (only a couple turns!)
If you are using a tip and the application feels messy, move to a smaller sized tip. If you are using a tip and it feels slow and you are having to push too hard, move to a bigger sized tip. If you are already using the .625 and it feels to slow, maybe consider one of our Seam grade tips.
If you are new to the roof tube You may consider an addition faster grade tip bundle pack to make sure you have the right sized tip for the job
Tip Selection guide
.625" Tips are great for fastener grade mastics with a consistency similar to a frosting-type or a butter grade product. If you tipped a pale of this mastic over, it would fall out in a slow type ooze. These are our most popular tips. Fast application... get ready to move quick. Similar in size to our old style pvc tips
.47" Tips are great for mastics with more of loose yogurt or milk shake type consistency. If you tipped a pale of this over, most of the material would spill out fairly quickly but still stick to the sides. For reference with Silicone / urethane mastics, you may start the day with .625" and change to a .47" as the mastic heats up and gets looser.
.25" Tips are meant for coatings or mastic with a milk like consistency (more like traditional paint less like elastomeric coating.) If you tipped a pale of this over you would have a real mess on your hands. Useful for rust primers.
